About Our Interim Pastor
image
Rev. Dan Wetzel and his wife Iris bring more than 57 years of ministry experience to Cornerstone Fellowship Church. Dan is serving as transitional pastor for the congregation, as Cornerstone prepares to begin its search for a new permanent minister. Dan and Iris met while they were attending Bible college in Nyack, New York. After 15 years of ministry in Native American communities in Minnesota and the Dakotas, they moved to Montana to pastor the Glendive Alliance Church. They moved again to Evanston, Wyoming in 1987. A little more than a decade later Dan was elected as district superintendent of the Southwestern District of the Alliance. Upon completing an eleven-year ministry in Texas, the Wetzel’s moved to Colorado Springs, CO where Dan served in the denomination’s National Office as vice president for Church Ministries. The Wetzels continue to make their permanent home in Colorado Springs. Dan came to faith as a teenager. He responded to God’s call to ministry just as he began studies in forestry at Penn State University. Iris is also a licensed work in the Alliance. She followed God’s call to service as a teenager and now mentors other women in ministry across the U.S. The Wetzels’ passion is to see men and women grow closer to God in Christ. They long to see congregations thrive, as they discover and use the gifts God has given to them to advance His kingdom, encourage others to follow Jesus.
